ne woman is dead and a man is in custody following a shooting in the east end on Sunday night.
Police were called to a residence on Jones Avenue just south of Danforth Avenue just before 7 p.m. for reports someone had been shot.
When they arrived they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were performed and she was taken to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition, where she was later pronounced dead.
Investigators say a man in his 20s was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
Police would not say what the relationship, if any, is between the man and the woman only that this is an isolated incident and there are no additional suspects.
