A child is among five people taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Scarborough.

Police say they were called to the McNicoll Avenue and Midland Avenue area just before 4:30 p.m. following a head-on crash.

Paramedics tell CityNews two adults and a child were taken to a trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening condition. It’s not known if the three are related to each other.

Two other adults were taken to local hospitals. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

Police said Thursday night the condition of one of the five people in hospital had been downgraded to life-threatening but did not provide any further details.
