A 47-year-old father and his 11-year-old son were both killed when the motorcycle they were on was struck by a vehicle in Scarborough on Thursday evening.
The father was driving the motorcycle, with his young son as a passenger.
It happened around 6:23 p.m. in the Kingston and Manse roads area.
“Traffic Services is investigating the collision, but I can advise you that the motorcycle was travelling southbound on Manse Road when a vehicle attempted to make a left turn on to Kingston Road and struck the motorcycle,” Toronto Police told CityNews in a statement.
“The driver, 47 year-old male, and an 11-year-old male passenger of the motorcycle, were both pronounced deceased (father and son).”
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating, police added.
There’s no word at this point on possible charges or what caused the fatal crash.
Roads in the area were closed for an investigation but have since reopened.
