Power outages causing delay on TTC, over 2,000 in the dark in Etobicoke

A power outage is causing delays on the TTC’s Line 1 at Wellesley and College station.

The outage was first reported around 6:30 p.m. and service was suspended at the two stations northbound until about 7:30 p.m.

Service was also suspended between Bloor and Union around 10:45 p.m. before resuming by 11 p.m.

Toronto Hydro said crews have been deployed to an outage affecting customers downtown in the area between Charles Street to College Street and Bay Street to Church Street.

The estimated time of restoration is 1:25 a.m., according to the outage map.

Meanwhile, another outage has been reported in the Etobicoke area, affecting up to 2,500 customers.

The estimated restoration time for the power outage in the area near Centennial Park is estimated to be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

“We know it’s difficult to be without power, especially in this weather. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding,” read a statement from Toronto Hydro.
