A child who was the subject of an Amber Alert has been found safe, but the suspect remains outstanding and has been allegedly connected to the fatal shooting of woman in Brampton.
An Amber Alert was issued just before 5 p.m. for a missing one-year-old girl from Brampton, but she has since been located. It’s believed the child was dropped off with family members.
The suspect is 38-year-old Anthony Deschepper and the suspect vehicle is described as a 2024 black Nissan Kick with a Quebec licence plate FRV4520.
Anthony is described as five foot nine inches, 175 pounds, clean shaven with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans and carrying a black crossbody bag. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Peel police have confirmed the abduction is connected to a homicide that happened at a parking lot in Brampton earlier Tuesday. A woman was shot and killed in the area of Airport Road and Queen Street East.
Police say they believe this was an intimate partner-related incident.
Residents in Fort Erie were asked to shelter in place as the suspect was believed to be in the area of Prospect Point and Ridgeway Road, but it was lifted after police said they believe he has left the area.
