A man in his 60s and a young teen were critically injured after being struck by two vehicles in Mississauga.

Police in Peel Region say just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday, a white SUV was travelling southbound on Millcreek Drive north of Erin Mills Parkway when the driver struck two people attempting to cross the street. The force of the collision saw the pair thrown into the path of a northbound Volkswagen, trapping the young teen under the vehicle.

Acting Sgt. Tyler Bell says both the man and the boy, believed to be under the age of 16, were taken to the hospital in critical condition with injuries considered life-threatening.

Both drivers involved in the incident remained at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation.
