Toronto police say a male teen who was shot inside a Tim Hortons in Scarborough late Thursday afternoon has died in hospital.

Officers were called to the Lawrence Avenue East and Bellamy Road North area for reports of a shooting at around 4:09 p.m. and found the victim in the area with serious injuries.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but police later said he passed away.

His exact age has not been provided, but Toronto police Insp. Errol Watson said he was a teen.

So far there’s no suspect description.

“No other injuries were sustained by staff members or customers present,” Watson told reporters at the scene later Thursday.

“We do not have suspect information at this time. We are still in the midst of speaking with witnesses.”
