A man in his 60s suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after being struck by a truck in North York.

Toronto police say the man was riding a scooter on Sheppard Avenue when he was struck by a cube van east of Allen Road just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The man was taken to a trauma centre with critical injuries, according to paramedics.

Police say both the driver and vehicle remained at the scene.
