Fire crews remain on scene fighting a “very stubborn” fire at a commercial property in Brampton, said Deputy Chief Michael Waite.
Peel Regional Police say the fire at a business near Intermodal and Goreway drives is sending heavy smoke onto area roadways, causing delays.
The smoke is not causing any visibility issues, but drivers are rubbernecking.
At the height of the fire, there were 11 trucks on the scene and it is still active. They are currently using a drone to identify areas of concern but the majority of the burning is in the centre.

Waite said it is mostly scrap metal but multiple materials that are present.
The Ministry of Environment has been notified “in an abundance of caution.”
Brampton Fire is expected to be on the scene for an extended period of time and those in the area are being advised to close their windows.
No injuries have been reported.
