A man in his 90s is dead following a single-vehicle crash in North York.

Toronto police say a vehicle struck a tree in the Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue West area just before 5 p.m. Thursday.

The driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

The circumstances surrounding the cause of the crash are under investigation.
