A man has been killed while another is injured after two shootings in Scarborough on Monday afternoon.

Toronto police say they were called to Victoria Park Avenue and south of Highway 401 around 3:15 for reports of a shooting.

The victim was found with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers were called a few minutes later to Victoria Park and Sheppard Avenue to a second shooting where another victim was located. The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The shootings are believed to be connected, but police have not released details on how they are connected as it’s too early in the investigation.

No suspect information has been released at this time.

Duty Insp. Jonathan Rose said at this point, they do not believe there is any risk to the public.
