A 17-year-old boy is facing an attempted murder charge after a man was critically injured following a stabbing in Mississauga.

Police in Peel Region say a dispute between two people in a home in the Indian Grove and Indian Road area escalated into a violent altercation around 3 p.m. on Friday.

“Officers arrived on scene and located a male victim with multiple lacerations, and he is currently in life-threatening condition,” said Insp. Matt Miller.

The man was taken to a local trauma centre, where he remains in critical condition.

Investigators arrested a 17-year-old at the scene and recovered an edged weapon. He is expected to be charged with attempted murder.

Miller says the man and the boy are family members, but did not specify the exact nature of their relationship.
