Peel police are investigating a “suspicious death” after a body was discovered near some railway tracks in downtown Brampton.

Investigators say a body was located behind a pub, in the Queen Street East and Theatre Lane area on Sunday.

Police have not confirmed the age or gender of the victim, and say the exact circumstances surrounding this incident are still unclear.

“Most deaths are considered suspicious until the results of autopsy are made available,” a police spokesperson told CityNews.

A large police presence was observed in the area on Sunday for an investigation.
