Various brands of frozen breaded chicken products have been recalled across Canada due to pieces of metal. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) posted a recall notice about the frozen breaded chicken dated Nov. 14.
Compliments, Great Value, Janes, no name and Sysco are brands that have been impacted by the national recall.
Amazon posted a notice about the recalled chicken on Nov. 20.
A spokesperson from Sobeys said their company initiated this recall on Nov. 4, the day they said it was issued. Sobeys says Nov. 4 is the date Sobeys received “a vendor initiated voluntary recall notice.”
“We removed all affected products, including frozen breaded chicken, from our stores and banners, including Sobeys, Co-op, Foodland, FreshCo, Safeway, Thrifty Foods, IGA, and Voilà,” the Sobeys spokesperson said. “Customer health and safety remains our top priority, and we continue to follow CFIA guidelines to uphold the highest safety standards in our operations.”
